BioTrove is seeking a motivated individual to join its Surface Chemistry Research and Development group.

In this position, the qualified candidate will assist in the development of BioTrove's surface coatings. The candidate must be self-motivated, highly creative, meticulous, and have strong hands-on experimental skills. A solid technical background in laboratory experimentation and attention to detail is required. Ability to work in a fast paced multidisciplinary team is preferred. This is a hands-on position.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development of novel surface chemistry coatings.
• Help the transition form R&D to Mfg scale.
• Present experimental data to multidisciplinary group of coworkers.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. with 0-2 years experience in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials sciences or related discipline. MS with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Background in surface chemistry desirable.
• Strong trouble shooting skills
• Experience in PCR based assays a plus.
• Solid background in laboratory experimentation.
• Experience with computers and surface chemistry characterization equipment
• Independent contributor but able to collaborate with others.
• Excellent communications skills.
