BioTrove is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join its Research and Development team. This position provides an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment. The Scientist will be responsible for developing TaqMan real-time assay technology for use in a proprietary nanofluidic PCR device. The qualified candidate will have experience with real-time PCR and RT-PCR techniques and will be a conscientious and meticulous worker. A solid background in laboratory experimentation, especially basic molecular biology techniques, is required. R&D experience in setting up and handling large numbers of samples and assays is preferred. Reference Job Code # 62-7-JH.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory experiments in support of assay development projects.
• Organize and evaluate high volumes of experimental data.
• Record, summarize, and present experimental data to interdisciplinary group of coworkers.
• Manufacture and quality control for finished product.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology or related life sciences discipline.
• Experience working with TaqMan qPCR assay development.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in molecular biology, assay development and/or manufacturing with strong hands-on experience and proven ability to evaluate experimental data.
• Experience in analyzing large amounts of data is required. Strong troubleshooting skills and experience in presenting data is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Access databases is desirable.
• GLP/GMP experience is preferred.
